Meet Our Family
The Burnett Photography Family
Troy and I are like Hobbits. We love nature, animals, simple pleasures like watching the weather change, the smell of a campfire, a good beer and a tasty meal after an exhilarating day of skiing or hiking.
We discovered Banff while planning our destination wedding. We lived in Los Angeles at the time. Troy was finishing his PhD in Geography at UCLA and I was in art school. We wanted to get married in the mountains and came here after I had a dream about Banff. ( I know, this sounds so hoaky!)
We loved it here. I cried all the way home after our wedding! I didn’t want to leave. As it turns out, I didn’t have to. Shortly after our wedding, Troy was offered a position teaching at Mt. Royal University. We relocated here from L.A. and never looked back.
That was in 2007. Since then, our family has grown—2 kids, 3 dogs and 4 cats later, our Hobbit Hole is a chaotic mess of love and fur. Every day we marvel at our good fortune to live and work in such beauty. It’s an artist’s dream.
I think the Canadian Rockies are the most romantic place to get married.
When I connect with a couple planning a wedding here, I get goosebumps.
I know they are in for an experience of a lifetime.
We get it. We’ve been there ourselves. And we can’t wait to show you why we love it here.
