Yesterday in Banff was an absolute delight. We spent the afternoon at the top of the Sulphur Mountain Gondola Station waiting out the rain and lightening so we could photograph the surprise proposal of Tim to Allison.
Believe me, it was worth the wait! The gondola stopped running due to the electrical storm for a short while leaving Time and Allison on the bottom side of the mountain and Troy and I on the top! We had plenty of time to chat with our fellow gondola visitors, who were all in a festive mood despite the rain. I think we were all just happy to be out and about with Covid restrictions being eased and a sense of life going back to normal. In any case, being decked from head to toe in photo gear generates a lot of interest in what we were doing, so by the time Tim and Allison arrived, just about everyone knew what was coming. Everyone except Allison!
Tim was rearing and ready to go. Let me tell you, he went down on his knee to propose with the speed, intensity and determination of a score-winning base runner at the bottom of the ninth inning in a world series game!
The deck was slippery too, so I think he may have damaged his bride-to-be somehow in his enthusiasm. I’m not saying there was any blood, but there will an investigation! 😉
Allison was a complete crowd-pleaser, letting out a gorgeous cry of happiness and joy that captured everyone’s attention. Mind you, we were all waiting in anticipation for quite some time so all eyes on deck were focused on this couple and she did not disappoint!
The day was made even merrier by the hooting and hollering of Tim and Allison’s family who were watching from the sidelines. And if that didn’t make it just perfect, then the sun breaking out and the clouds parting sure did.
Oh, and there was also the incredibly decadent bottle of Dom Perignon Rose that Tim had me special order for the occasion. A vintage of champagne that is a once-in-a-lifetime experience—unless your Jeff Bezos, an Arab Shek, or a royal!
Tim, you are a stylish, classy, incredibly generous guy with a heart of gold. I can see why you went through all the effort. Allison is worth it. You guys rock and we fell in love with you both. I hope these pictures ( just a sneak peek!) bring back all the joy and excitement everytime you look at them.
Warmly,
Shirleen Burnett
