Marvel Pass Wedding Proposal
Jake managed to pull off what every man aspires to— the perfect surprise proposal.
After 8 years of dating, he chose a dramatic location to pop the question, beautiful Marvel Pass. Marvel Pass is located on the south-west border of Banff National Park. It has long been a favorite spot for such special private moments. Thanks to pilot Justin of Alpine Helicopters, Jake, Maire, Troy and I arrived at the pass after an unforgettable flight that left our hearts racing. We ventured through steep mountains, along the Continental Divide and over the incredible Assiniboine Glacier to land in the heart of the Canadian Rockies.
We had 15min. in wild paradise for Jake to express what had been built up for so many years, his deep love for Marie and single desire for her to be his wife making him “the happiest man alive”. It was très romantique.
Of course, Marie was only told that we were photographers documenting the flight so she was caught off guard when he bent his knee. I suppose after dating for 8 YEARS, she stopped wondering if & when a proposal was forthcoming! After all, that was a long time to “sit on the pot” as my mom likes to say. 😉
Nicely done, Jake. I’m sure both your families are relieved. They’ve been waiting for a mild forever!
After the flight, the happy couple enjoyed a picnic on the dock of Vermillion Lake and intimate canoe paddle. Jake was a total boss battling crazy winds like a champion Cub Scout in our canoe while Marie sipped champagne and looked simply lovely. It was a day to remember.
Congratulations Jake & Marie. We wish you all the happiness there is to have.
Warmly,
Shirleen & Troy Burnett
