Lake Moraine Portrait Session
Lake Moraine is a beautiful place to get married or have a portrait session.
Moraine Lake is a glacially fed lake in the Banff National Park, 14 kilometres (8.7 mi) outside the Village of Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada.
It is situated in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, at an elevation of approximately 6,183 feet (1,885 m).
It is beautiful.
Troy and I have been fortunate to have had our share of weddings, elopements and engagement sessions at this lovely lake this summer.
(Check out some of our other blogs: https://www.shirleenburnett.com/lake-moriane-engagement-session/).
It is one of my favorite locations for portraiture. And while it has been something of a soggy summer, Pinky and Herman, our newly weds-to-be, were graced with a perfect day.
Troy and I picked Pinky and Herman up at 11am and braved the crowds to access some of the most beautiful vistas on offer.
Being so popular,”Lake Moraine” and “crowds” go hand in hand. The one road that lead to the lake is often shut down completely in an effort to control the hundreds, if not thousands, of visitors to the area each day during the summer season. (The road is closed in the winter due to avalanche danger.)
Thankfully, Troy and I schlep around so much lighting gear that by standers think we are filming a commercial! I kid you not, this happens all the time.
And of course, why correct anybody when everybody is conveniently getting out of our way? 😉
This path was busy with tourists wanting to check out the views of the lake. After pulling out some light stands and video equipment, they parted like the seas did for Moses!
Pinky and Herman looked the part as well. Upon our first meeting, they had mentioned to me that they were not particularly comfortable in front of the camera. They thought they would feel awkward and self conscious being professionally photographed.
I think they were models in disguise, hiding their fame and talent from us and the world much like pool sharks claim ignorance of the game in seedy bars in Vegas! They had a smoulder to die for and took to posing like superstars! Don’t you think?
Thank you Pinky & Herman for a lovely time.
We hope the universe aligns perfectly for your wedding day!
