Fairmont Banff Springs Engagement Picture
The Fairmont Banff Springs is an amazing venue in every way.
Whether you are there for your wedding, a portrait session or simply to walk around and admire the architecture, there is always something to do or see here.
Jenna and Rob came up from Calgary to do a 3-hour portrait session with us. They stayed at the Fairmont Banff Springs and wanted to incorporate this remarkable building..nay! castle… into their engagement pictures. I was ecstatic. If you follow our blog at all, you would know that the Banff Springs Hotel is one of my absolute favorite places on earth. Troy and I were won over forever at our own wedding held here in the Mt. Stephan’s Hall in 2005.
The grounds, rooms, hallways, staircases, even the ladies bathroom are all visual treats and technical challenges to any photographer. Capturing the details and romantic ambiance here is no easy task, but Troy and I have dedicated ourselves to mastering its many nuances. The results have been rewarding.
Before we headed out to the Fairmont Banff Springs, we began our session in a very different environment with a very different look in mind. Jenna & Rob wanted some casual outdoor pictures with big mountain views. They were keen to have their Pomeranian pup, Rai, involved, which I always encourage because I just adore animals. The first hour of our photo session was spent on a lovely walk capturing candids of Jenna and Rob with their adorable ball of fluff.
At a particularly beautiful vista with a lovely, old tree, we celebrated their engagement with some champagne. Although Jenna & Rob had never been professionally photographed before, they were naturals and took to our direction with enthusiasm.
Back at our place, Jenna and Rob had a quick wardrobe change, transforming from casual hikers to old school Hollywood film noir stars!
The castle was the perfect playground to capture the passion between these two lovers.
Jenna & Rob, thank you for a fabulous afternoon. I hope you enjoy the pictures we made for you.
We are looking forward to exploring the jungles, cenotes, ruins and ocean’s edge with you and our cameras at your wedding this month in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
Warmly,
Shirleen Burnett
